Wilderness First Aid
Intended Audience:
Individuals who require or desire wilderness first aid knowledge and skills, but are not professional responders; including adventure quides, outdoor enthusiasts, camp counselors and administrators, camp participants, park and forest rangers, and other occupations that work in a wilderness enviroment.
Prerequisites:
Adult CPR and AED is required
Basic First Aid is recommended
Students must be 14 years of age (Meets age requirement for Boy Scouts of America High Adventure Camp participation and wilderness first aid certification requirements).
Class Hours:
Initial Course: 16-20 Hours (16 hours to meet core knowledge and skill objectives)
Renewal Course: 8-12 Hours
Completion Requirements:
Written Exam: Required (77% or better.)
Performance Evaluation: Required - Perform all core skills competently and without assistance
Certification Period:
Up to 3 years. Recommended every 2 years.
