First Responder
Intended Audience:
Firefighters, law enforcement officers, security personnel, public works employees, park rangers, customs agents, lifguards, coperate Medical Emergency Response Teams, and outh interested persons.
Prerequisites:
Professional-level Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR/AED) required, to include CPR for Adult, Child, and Infant
Class Hours:
Initial Course: 40 Hours
Renewal Course: 16 Hours
Completion Requirements:
Written Exam: Required (70% or better.)
Performance Evaluation: Required
Working as the lead first responder in a scenario-based team setting, adequately direct the initial assessment and care of:
1. An unresponsive medical or trauma patient
2. A responsive medical or trauma patient
Certification Period:
Up to 3 years.
