Basic Life Support

Intended Audience:

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Prerequisites:

None

Class Hours:

Initial Course:  6-8 Hours

Renewal Course:  4-6 Hours (for healthcare providers who practice BLS on a regular basis.)

Completion Requirements:

Written Exam: Required

Performance Evaluation: Demonstration of skills competency in all learning stations and simulated clinical scenarios.

Certification Period:

Up to 2 years.  Recommended annually.
