Cricothyrotomy
Demonstration
Locate and cleanse the skin overlying the cricothyroid membrane
Make the incision through the membrane
Insert a hemostat or the handle of the scalpel to spread open the incision
Pass an endotracheal tube (or a tracheal tube if available) through the opening until the cuff just disappears
Inflate the cuff while stabilizing the tube and start ventilating
Remove the adapter and shorten the tube
Replace the cap
Ventilate and secure the tube
